Saved devices

The Saved Devices tool stores selected device-page slugs in your browser's local storage. This list is not uploaded to DevLifeCheck, does not identify a physical handset and can be cleared with the Remove controls or by clearing browser site data.

Information submitted by you

The correction form stores the device or model, page URL, correction details, optional evidence URL and optional email address. An email is used only to clarify that submission. Do not include passwords, payment details, government identifiers or unrelated personal information.

Optional email alerts

Alert signup stores the selected device, consent and verification timestamps, delivery status, a one-way duplicate-control hash and an encrypted email address. A separate encrypted management token lets each message offer pause, resume and permanent deletion controls. Signup requires email verification; no alert starts from an unverified address.

The configured email delivery provider processes the address and message only to deliver the requested alert. Alerts cover material published lifecycle, recall, repairability and evidence changes. They are not advertising and do not replace manufacturer or regulator notices.

Operational data

The hosting provider may process standard request metadata such as time, requested path, user agent, approximate network information and error logs to deliver and protect the service. DevLifeCheck does not currently sell personal information or use cross-site advertising profiles.

Retention and access

Correction records are retained while they are reviewed and for an editorial audit period after closure. Paused alert data remains available for reactivation; the management link can permanently delete the encrypted address, subscription and delivery history. Operational logs follow the hosting provider's configured retention. Access is limited to authorized editorial and operational staff.

Future features

Accounts, analytics or affiliate links will not be enabled under this notice without a visible update describing consent, deletion, processors and applicable choices. The public site remains usable without an account or email alert.
